We do not sell silica sand for blasting, and we do not use it in the bay.

There is always something on our shelves that will do the same job instead. If you are not sure what, that is what the page on choosing media is for.

Since 2015

Xenon Blast Media started in 2015 in a former machine shop on the South Side, selling media to body shops, restorers, fabricators and the odd sculptor. The bay came later, once enough customers had asked whether they could use ours.

The job we still talk about was a set of eleven cast iron radiators from a house in Lawrenceville, painted so many times the fins had filled in. They went through the bay over two weeks on fine garnet, and came out with the casting marks showing again. The family had them painted the same cream they started as.

Before Your First Visit

The dock opens at 7:00 and closes at 15:30 on weekdays, and on Saturday mornings it is open from 8:00 to 12:00 for pickups. Directions to the dock come with your order confirmation.

One thing worth knowing: the dock door sticks in cold weather. Lift it from the middle rather than the side and it goes up fine.
